DEIXIS
It is the part of semantics and pragmatics, related to the other words that are used to indicate other elements. Words like "you, there is, here, this, etc. deicticas are expressions, which serve to draw people, situations, places, etc.
An expression used by a speaker/writer to identify something is called deictic expression (or indexical). When you ask “What's this?” and “What's that?”, you are using DEICTIC expressions this or that to indicate something in the immediate context. The sentence below contains a number of deictic expressions.
In their primary meaning, for example, now and here are

There are three main types of deixis:
Personal: pronouns such as I and you.

Temporal: words describing the speaker in terms of time such as now, then, yesterday and verb tenses.
Out of context, we cannot understand the sentence, because we don't know who you and he refer to respectively, and what, where and when something is to be left. According to referential content, deixis can be put into person deixis, place deixis, time deixis and discourse deixis.
